F.A.Q.
(Frequently Asked Questions.)
These are some of most common questions we are constantly asked. Here we will answer them. If you have a query that is not listed here you can always contact us directly, and we will endeavour to answer you.
“How long should I burn my Candle?”
It is advised to burn your Medium and Large Jar Candles approximately 4hrs at any given time, flooding the complete surface, otherwise known as pool, so that the optimum burn is achieved. It is advised to burn your Small Candle on a Shade & Tray, approximately for 3hrs.
“What is Tunnelling?”
Tunnelling is whereby the candle has not been given the required 4hrs burn time. A tide mark in appearance then occurs around the edge of the candle, and over a period of time this will become spiralling, leaving your candle with a lot of wax around the side, otherwise known as Tunnelling.
“How can I prevent Tunnelling?”
Allow your candle to pool to the edge. It is recommended 4hrs for the Large and Medium Jars.
“What does a Shade & Tray do?”
A Shade & Tray will encourage the burn and put the fragrance out into the room. It is decorative and the Tray will help prevent heat damage to your surfaces. We advise, however, to place a coaster underneath the tray to ensure maximum protection.
“Why is my Candle going black?”
The Candle has a wick which is highly fragranced, therefore we advise you to use your handy Wick Trimmer to keep the wick neat and tidy. This will cut down on any blackness and your candle will be like lighting it for the first time.
“Why do I need a Votive Holder to burn Votives?”
If the Votive is placed on a plate and not in a holder, it will collapse, therefore a Votive Holder is essential to the burn of this Candle.
“What is the correct way to remove a Votive after burning?”
A few drops of Water added to your holder before putting in your Votive enables the dregs to be removed easily with a spoon.
“What is the purpose of an Illuma lid?”
They look beautiful and help steady the flame for a Clean Even Burn, resulting in a ridged upright flame.
“Why has my Reeds evaporated so quickly?”
Reeds need to be Stored Upright in a Cool Environment and Away From Sunlight when in use, and also when not in use. So it is advised to keep them Out Of The Sunlight.
“How do I remove a Wax Melt from a Melt Warmer?”
It is advised when using Yankee Melt Warmers to warm the wax up for a Few Minutes with the required Tea-Light. Then pop out, using your finger. If it is a unit where the dish can be removed, it can be placed in the freezer for a Few Minutes until hard, and again remove by pressing with fingers.
“How do I extinguish my Candle after a burn?”
Gently dowse the flame with a Candle Snuffer to prevent the Candle from smoking. Or if a snuffer is unavailable, use the Lid of the Jar and remove when the candle has been extinguished. Normally 2hrs after use.
